It is always a concern for parents, who their kids make friends with. I grew up in what you may call an “economically challenged” part of the Maritimes. Needless to say, my parents were justifiably concerned.
Their solution was to buy me a puppy. It worked. The dog and I quickly became best friends. I spent all my time with that dog. Years later, when I was trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life, I realized that it had to involve dogs. The problem was I just didn’t know how to put it into action.
